KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 2, 2016) The long road to Knoxville, Iowa is nearly at its end as the 26th edition of the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank kicks off on Thursday, August 4.
At the time of press, 95 drivers have entered the $15,000 two win spectacular. Terry McCarl enters the three day run as the defending champion and is a favorite to win his fifth crown, which could set the Altoona, Iowa native up for a possible $50,000 bonus.
Past Champions entered into this year’s event number five.
Joining McCarl is Oklahoma’s Wayne Johnson, who has two wins in 2000 and 2008, along with Nebraska’s Billy Alley, who went back-to-back in 2004 and 2005. Taking the win in 2014, Missouri’s Brian Brown, is also on the list of top contenders to take the win. Also from the ShowMe state, Danny Lasoski grabbed his lone 360 Nationals win in 1995.
While the aforementioned bonus is up for grabs for anyone, the first step is winning the final night of the 26th Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank if you hope to lay your hand on that kind of cash as Lucas Oil Products presents the Lucas Oil Triple Crown; a $50,000 bonus for any driver who can sweep three of the biggest events on the 2016 lineup with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
While Knoxville is the first stop, the next jewel in the crown sits at the Missouri State Fair Speedway with the $15,000 to win High Roller Classic on Sunday, August 21. Aaron Reutzel won the inaugural event in 2015.
The final jewel is a diamond of an event as the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial goes to three nights with a $10,000 top prize awaiting the winner on Saturday, September 24.
So really, the game is simple. Win $40,000 in prize money by sweeping Knoxville, Sedalia, and Wheatland, and then add another $50,000 from Lucas Oil to that, but first, the “Midwest Mecca of Mud”.
The 26th Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank begins on Thursday, August 4 and goes through Saturday, August 6 at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
Thursday and Friday of the 26th Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank will see Pit Gates opening at 3:00 P.M. Hot Laps will be a 6:45 P.M. (CDT). Saturday will open at 2:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:15 P.M. (CDT).
