GLSS Opens 2nd Half of Season Visiting Butler Speedway

7/20/2016: Butler Speedway, Quincy, MI

This Saturday, July 23rd, Great Lakes Super Sprints gets the second half of the season underway at Butler Speedway, including 8 more points races and wrapping up the season with 2 nights of racing at the Canadian Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway.
The Inaugural Season of GLSS started out a little soggy with 5 of the first 8 races called for heavy amounts of moisture! We were able to get a couple races in while visiting Ohio Memorial Weekend supporting NRA at Limaland and Eldora Speedways.
Excited to run with the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Lucas Oil National Tour, we were only able to get 1 of 3 scheduled races in. However, the weather straightened around and we were able to get 5 solo GLSS races in a row in the books.
After two weeks off, we’re excited to get together at the battle grounds of Butler Speedway. Following Butler the last weekend of July we have a triple header weekend! Starting Friday night July 29th at Tri-City Motor Speedway, then traveling 85 miles Northwest to Merritt Speedway on Saturday night and closing out the weekend 104 miles straight South at I-96 Speedway.
We’ll take off the first week of August during the Knoxville Nationals and then pick up the racing with a double header on the West side of Michigan at Winston Speedway and Thunderbird Speedway on August 12th and 13th. Taking off the next weekend we’re looking at adding a race at Manistee Fairgrounds in Onekama, MI for a Friday night race on Friday, August 26th and then traveling back to Butler Speedway for our championship night where we’ll run with the FAST 305’s and FAST 410’s. An exciting night of all winged sprint car racing!!!
As we pick up the racing Saturday, the points race at the top will be back on! With Dustin Daggett of Portland, MI currently holding a 7 point lead over Chase Ridenour of Perry, MI and Gregg Dalman of Bellvue, MI and Ryan Ruhl of Coldwater, MI both on Ridenours heels, this battle is far from being settled! Be sure to follow the points race on our webpage and come out and see us at your local tracks!!!
