Taylor Disappointed Yet Optimistic following Mechanical Problem

Inside Line Promotions – FORT MORGAN, Colo. (July 19, 2016) – Zac Taylor’s first midget victory was in sight before mechanical problems ruined the opportunity last weekend. However, the teenager is optimistic a win will come soon, very soon.

Taylor was leading the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) feature at I-76 Speedway last Saturday with only five laps to go when a mechanical problem likely cost him the win.

“We were fast in the heat and a magneto problem hit,” he said. “We thought we fixed it. We went out and led the first 15 laps (out of 20) and it happened again. Todd (Henry, who is the car owner) said he won’t let that happen again. I felt bad for him and the team. We were awesome all night.”

An opportunity for redemption won’t be too far away as Taylor and Henry will team up for a doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Lamar Speedway in Lamar, Colo., with the RMMRA.

“After the speed we had this past weekend … a win is coming and I owe it to Todd and the guys to reward their hard work,” Taylor said.

Taylor has four victories this season in a winged sprint car.
