The second of three trips to the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in 2016, the season’s first trip on May 6 went to current ASCS Gulf South Regional point’s leader, Channin Tankersley, who went on to sweep the weekend and pocket an extra $1,000 courtesy of Cooper Racing and Challenger Drilling. Only eight points back from taking the runner-up spot is Tommy Bryant who enters the weekend in search of his first ASCS Gulf South win of the season. Michael McNeil and Jacob Lucas complete the top-five in tour standings.

Zane Lawrence holds sixth with Dustin Gates, J.J. Simmons, Travis Rilat, and Cody Stacy making up the top-ten.

The second round of the Waco Metals Shootout Series at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, Tankersley’s win earlier this year puts the driver of the No. 14 atop the mini-series standings. A three night battle at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, the top-ten in standings from the three race run will split a $3,000 point fund.
