Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (July 19, 2016) – Joe Trenca is gaining comfort each time he competes at Williams Grove Speedway.

The Mucci Motorsports driver returned to the famed half-mile oval last Friday for the first time since April.

“Steve Buckwalter was helping coach me throughout the night,” he said. “There are some things we need to tweak, but I feel a lot better.”

Trenca opened the night by qualifying 20th quickest before he finished where he started – seventh – in a heat race. That lined him up 22nd in the main event.

“We talked to a lot of guys and a lot of guys say it takes time,” he said. “Williams Grove is a tough track and the competition is really stiff. Every time we’ve gone down there we’ve progressed a little bit.”

Trenca showed that progression during the main event as he took advantage of the seat time by maneuvering to a 17th-place result.

“I learned how to run the track a little better,” he said. “There are certain points you have to look for on the track and when it blows off to do something different. We found some things with the car we can improve on as well. I’m excited to get back down there again.”

Trenca will take this weekend off before resuming competition on July 26 at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, for the Six Nations Showdown with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.
