Sun Prairie, Wis., July 13---Officials of The Mid-State Equipment /Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series have announced two additional races to their 2016 schedule. This season marks the 80th year of sanctioning midget auto racing for the organization, oldest in the country.
The “Challenge in the Northwoods” at Seymour Raceway Park will be Sunday Night August 7. The originally scheduled event was rained out on June 26. Badger last sanctioned an event at Seymour on July 20, 1974 when the track was a half-mile in length.
The 600 micros are also on the evening’s events and will feature a co-sanctioned event by Badger 600 Micro Series presented by My Race Pass & the POWRi North Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series presented by Cab Construction. The two open wheel divisions join the tracks regular Sunday Night divisions: Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, and Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars.
For the first-time in nineteen years the series returns to the LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway on Saturday Night August 27 for the “Bill Waite Memorial”. The event will be headlined by the co-sanctioned IRA Bumper to Bumper Outlaw & MOWA Neal Tire & Auto Center Sprint Car Series event. Also competing will be the 1200 mini sprints event co-sanctioned by Wisconsin/Illinois & Central Illinois Mini Sprint Series, and UMP Street Stocks.
