Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (July 12, 2016) – Caleb Helms maneuvered to his third top-10 finish of the season during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition this season last Saturday during the Lou Blaney Memorial.

Helms kicked off the event at Sharon Speedway by qualifying 15th quickest overall and sixth in his group. He then advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race to lock into the 14th starting position for the main event.

“We felt pretty good in hot laps, but I didn’t lay down the best laps in qualifying,” he said. “We were off a little bit. We had a pretty good heat. We got a great start. I moved up on the outside and got a good run and got up to fifth and then passed Travis Philo on the bottom.”

Helms was on the move in the main event as well by using the outside groove for most of the race.

“I ran high most of the time,” he said. “It was pretty fast and kind of rough. We were catching Tim (Shaffer) and Kraig (Kinser) a couple of times, but just didn’t get them. Rick Ferkel and the guys are working really hard to get the car right and make me comfortable. It seems like we made some progress and we’re getting closer to finding a baseline we can work off.”

Helms scored an eighth-place finish, which gives him momentum as he heads into the Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and the 33rd annual Kings Royal Thursday through Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“Brad Doty is a good spokesman for the sport so I’m happy to support his race,” he said. “And the Kings Royal is my favorite race. I always enjoy that weekend so I’m really looking forward to this week’s races.”
