Hanks Defending ASCS Red River Points Lead at Tripleheader This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (July 6, 2016) – Brandon Hanks is focused on capturing his first career sprint car championship.

Hanks holds a 173-point lead in the ASCS Red River Region championship standings with 10 events remaining, including a trio of races this weekend. Hanks will compete with the region on Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.; on Friday at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Wainwright, Okla.; and on Saturday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., for the Sooner Sweep.

“We’re pretty confident going into the weekend,” he said. “They are some good tracks for us.”

Hanks has earned a podium finish and two top 10s at Creek County Speedway this season.

“We always seem to have really good runs there,” he said. “Normally I end up with a podium or a top 10 at least. I seem to be pretty fortunate there. I like the small, elbows-up kind of tracks. I enjoy that kind of racing.”

Friday will mark his season debut at Outlaw Motor Speedway, where he finished with a runner-up result last July during his only race at the track since 2014.

“I think I finished second to Sam (Hafertepe Jr.) when he came back from his injury,” he said. “I’m looking forward to going back.”

Hanks has posted results of fifth and eighth this season at Lawton Speedway.

“It’s a short, elbows-up type of track,” he said. “It’s not the same type as Creek County, but you have to get after it.”

Hanks is only one top-five finish away from tying a season high, which he set last year.
