BOISE, Idaho (June 29, 2016) Logan Forler continues to build steam going into the Summer stretch of the 2016 season with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network. Taking on the 45th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup presented by Jack in the Box this past weekend, Forler charged to a pair of Top 10 finishes in the prestigious event.

Kicking things off Friday with Thursday falling to rain, the field was met with a Heat/Qualifier format. For his Heat, Logan drew the third starting spot.

“We started out with a tough Heat Race, and I knew we were going to have a tough time passing the front row cars so we ended up having to start in the back of a Qualifier. With how many good cars that were there, it was tough to get enough points to start up front but we were able to pass a few car in the Qualifier,” commented Forler who was able to advance to the A-Feature through is Heat and Qualifier.

“The car was good all night, just ended up in a lot of races with some really good cars. In the Feature, it was just a survival type deal. I just picked them off when I could and stayed out of the wrecks and ended up pretty good but overall, I was really happy with how Friday night went.”

Rolling from 16th to sixth on Friday, that set the stage for Saturday with a whole new night to try and lock into the $15,000 to win A-Feature.

Fourth in his Heat Race, Forler again worked into a Qualifier where the Rush Concrete Pumping / SpeedMart No. 2L picked up the win.

“I screwed up the Heat Race and just didn’t get by the cars I need to at the right time but that put us on the front row of a Qualifier and I was able to capitalize,” commented Forler.

Locking in to the 15th starting spot, Logan rolled to a ninth place finish in Saturday’s A-Feature.

“The track Saturday night was fast and you had to work to pass so again, I just started picking them of when I could and stayed out of trouble and moved forward. Overall I was pleased with the weekend, just wish we could have started a little further towards the front.”

Looking to the coming weekend, the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network heads to the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. and the second annual Fred Brownfield Memorial.

“I’ve won a lot of races at Grays Harbor so I’m not too worried about this weekend. Hope the track’s good. It usually is pretty racy so I think we should be pretty good.”

Logan would like to give special thanks to Barry Martinez at SpeedMart for his help during Dirt Cup as well as new crew member, Grant Boyum, for his hard work over the weekend.
