NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (June 27, 2016) – For the second time in 2016 and for the first time in his family’s tribute car, Jack Sodeman, Jr. earned his place in victory lane, this time earning top honors at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night, June 25. The defending Mercer Raceway Park track champion started on the outside of row one for Saturday evening’s main event, eventually holding back Michael Bauer and Carl Bowser at the final checkers.

“I think every adjustment we made to the car on Saturday worked to our advantage,” said Jack Sodeman, Jr. “It feels good to have nights like that, especially since we had our tribute car out. Things went our direction and we came out on top. Hopefully we can have a few more nights like that before the end of the season.”

Jack Sodeman, Jr. will now step forward and begin preparations for an action packed Independence Day weekend in Western Pennsylvania. The North Jackson, Ohio, native plans to enter three events in three days, competing in three different divisions, all of which taking shape at three different Western Pennsylvania ovals. Weekend competition will ignite officially on Friday evening, July 1, with BOSS non-wing action at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania. Sodeman is a former BOSS main event winner at “The Action Track,” earning the DIRTcar Roundup victory in October.

Jack Sodeman, Jr. will continue his weekend triple-header on Saturday night, July 2, back at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The Racers for Kids benefit will feature a complete program for the 410 sprint cars, allowing Sodeman the opportunity to score a second consecutive main event victory at the three-eighths mile oval.

On Sunday evening, July 3, Sodeman will join the Patriot Sprint Tour at Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pennsylvania. The 360 sprint car series program will award a $4,000 top prize, the only Eriez Speedway appearance by the Patriot Sprint Tour in 2016. Sodeman will pilot the C.J. Jones-owned no. 10J during his 2016 Patriot Sprint Tour debut.

“It’s a really diverse schedule for us, but that makes it more exciting,” said Jack Sodeman, Jr. “I think we have an opportunity to win three races this weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever won a wing, non-wing, and 360 sprint car race all in the same weekend. What a wild way to spend the holiday, that’s for sure. I just can’t thank my family and team enough for their support. Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can get three solid nights of racing in.”
