Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (June 27, 2016) – Defending Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour champion Aaron Reutzel has committed to tackling the first weekend of the NSA Shootout.
Reutzel will race at Billings Motorsports Park on July 15-16 during a marquee 360ci winged sprint car event that is capped with a $7,500-to-win main event.
“That’s huge,” he said. “When you’re doing it for a living you have to find all those races that pay good and you need to win them to try make a decent year out of it.”
Reutzel finished second during his lone visit to the track last year and he was third in 2014.
“We keep coming up short on winning,” he said. “The track has always been phenomenal. (Johnny) Herrera got us last year. I slid him, but he got me back. The year before we ran third to Jason (Johnson) and Jeff Swindell.”
The July doubleheader is the first weekend of a three-weekend, six-race series this summer. Billings Motorsports Park will also host a doubleheader on Sept. 9-10 with the finale paying $7,500 to win and Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has the 61st annual Gold Cup on Aug. 26-27 as part of the NSA Shootout.
Additionally, the NSA Shootout has declared a bonus system for feature winners. Any driver who wins three of the six NSA Shootout main events will receive a $1,000 bonus. Four A Main victories nets a $1,500 bonus with five triumphs providing a $2,000 bonus. Sweeping all six races is worth an extra $2,500.
A points fund for the six-race series is also in the works.

THE EVENT –
The inaugural NSA Shootout features six total 360ci winged sprint car races – four at Billings Motorsports Park in Billings, Mont., and two at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – this summer. All races have elevated pay and the event will showcase feature bonuses as well as a points fund.
