Sprint Cars Hit Middle-America For Races at Jackson, Eagle and Lakeside

USAC’s first appearance in Jackson, Minn. in 28 years kicks off a four-race Mid-America swing for the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars this week. Thursday night’s race at the Jackson Motorplex will be followed by Friday’s “Rumble in the Bullring” at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska and Saturday and Sunday races at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kans.

Danny Lasoski won the last USAC race at Jackson in 1988 and Thursday’s race is only the fourth for the series in Minnesota on dirt.

Eagle will host its fourth USAC Sprint race Friday. Bryan Clauson won there in 2012 and Dave Darland won there the last two years.

USAC first started racing Sprint Cars in Kansas City in 1963. Rocklin, California’s Robert Ballou earned one of his 13 series victories at Lakeside one year ago on his way to the 2015 Sprint title.

Brady Bacon has a 29-point lead over Thomas Meseraull in the AMSOIL standings entering the four-race swing. Chase Stockon is 91 points back and Ballou trails by 125. A total of 336 points will be available in the four races.

Bryan Clauson remains the winningest driver this season; he has six wins. Ballou and Chad Boespflug have won twice, while single-race winners include Thomas Meseraull, Darland, Stockon, Brady Bacon, Scotty Weir, Kevin Thomas Jr. and Chris Windom.
