Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (June 21, 2016) – Seth Bergman has had this weekend circled on his calendar for a year.

Bergman will return to his home state for the next two weeks to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour starting this Thursday through Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., for the 45th annual Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup.

“Growing up in Washington the Dirt Cup has always been a huge deal,” he said. “We won a preliminary night last year, but the goal is to win the finale. We know how to win at Skagit and now we need to win the right night.”

Bergman has recorded 10 consecutive top-10 finishes, including during all five Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek races.

“We are being consistent, but not in the position we want to run,” he said. “We expect to run consistently in the top three and top five to give ourselves opportunities to win races.”

Last week’s Speedweek competition began on Wednesday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., where Bergman finished fourth in a heat race before he maneuvered from 15th to 10th in the main event.

He ventured to Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., on Thursday. Bergman placed fourth in both a heat race and a qualifier to rank 11th in overall points. He then advanced to a ninth-place finish in the feature.

Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., hosted a round last Friday. Bergman powered from ninth to fifth place in a heat race and from 10th to sixth in the main event.

Speedweek concluded on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, where Bergman finished second in both a heat race and a qualifier before scoring a ninth-place result in the main event.

“We moved forward in every feature so that is something to build on,” he said. “Our focus is winning races so hopefully we can get back to that level this weekend in front of my home crowd in Washington.”

Bergman ended sixth in the ASCS National Tour Speedweek standings.
