Inside Line Promotions – MASON CITY, Iowa (June 21, 2016) – Danny Lasoski capped last weekend by guiding Big Game Motorsports to its fourth win of the season.
Lasoski led the final 10 laps of the National Sprint League debut at Mason City Motor Speedway on Sunday to capture the triumph. It was the Muddy sponsored team’s second NSL win of the year and brings Lasoski within four points of the lead in the championship standings.
“We’ve been struggling a bit lately so it was great to get back to the Winner’s Circle,” he said. “Everybody with this Muddy team has worked so hard so it’s nice to be able to reward everyone with a win.”
The event began with Lasoski setting quick time during qualifying. He then advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race, which made him the driver with the most points. The feature inversion was a two to start Lasoski on the outside of the second row for the 20-lap main event.
“I knew on the pace lap we were going to be good,” he said. “The car had a lot of drive in it. I knew we’d have an opportunity to be on the podium. At the start Ian and Kerry Madsen took off. I was trying to get my car to rotate where they weren’t. We got working good on the bottom.”
Lasoski took the lead on Lap 11 and pulled away to the triumph, which was a big boost after how the week started.
The Muddy sponsored team faced the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series last Wednesday at Granite City Speedway in Sauk Falls, Minn. Lasoski qualified ninth quickest overall and placed third in a heat race to miss the dash by only one position. However, a loose handling car throughout the main event resulted in a 15th-place finish for Lasoski.
Friday’s National Sprint League event was rained out at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., so the team shifted its focus to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday. Lasoski timed in second quickest during qualifying and he advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. He started fourth in the main event, but the same problem from three nights before hampered the team.
“Lately we’ve been too tight, but last week we were too loose at Granite City and Knoxville,” Lasoski said. “We did our best to salvage what we could.”
Lasoski placed seventh. He remains second in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings.
Big Game Motorsports is scheduled to return to action this Friday at Jackson Motorplex with the National Sprint League and World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway with the National Sprint League.
