Inside Line Promotions – GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (June 8, 2016) – Zac Taylor’s scenic town of Green River, Wyo., is known for fishing, hunting and the breathtaking wilderness.
Taylor, whose career is soaring during a breakout 2016 season, is looking to add a professional race car driver to the list of things the town is associated with.
The 17-year-old, who has successfully competed in both a midget and a winged sprint car this season, will make his 360ci winged sprint car debut this Friday and Saturday at Sweetwater County Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo., which is a short drive from his home.
“We’ve been able to travel quite a bit this year so it will be nice to have the opportunity to debut in a 360 sprint car in front of my family, friends and community,” he said.
This past January Taylor competed in the biggest midget car race in the world – the Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Okla. Since then Taylor has not finished out of the top 10 and he has recorded two victories while racing his 305ci sprint car. He plans to continue to race a USAC midget at select events in 2016 along with another appearance at the 2017 Chili Bowl. Taylor has nearly 40 races on his schedule in 2016 with the midget and sprint car.
“We have some fantastic sponsors on board right now and I appreciate their support as well as that from my parents,” he said. “We do have marketing opportunities available throughout the remainder of the year beginning with this weekend’s races.”
Taylor’s ultimate goal is to race full time in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and then create a career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. But first there’s some business to take care of this weekend at his home track, where the local community is rallying behind the budding star.
“It’s so important to me to be a great example to kids who want to go after their goals and dreams,” he said. “I love the fans, especially my family and community in Green River, Wyo. They have given me amazing support.”
