Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (June 8, 2016) – Ryan Smith had three nights of racing planned this past weekend. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate and he only competed on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway.

“We had planned to do the World of Outlaws race at Fremont and the All Star shows in Ohio and Pennsylvania,” he said. “The weather forecast didn’t look great for Saturday and Sunday with the All Stars so we stayed closer to home and ran Williams Grove. We had planned to run Port Royal Saturday, but they rained out and we looked at the radar and Lincoln didn’t look good but they got the race in.”

Smith kicked off his lone night of racing at Williams Grove Speedway by advancing from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. He then finished seventh in the main event after lining up on the outside of the third row.

“I didn’t get a good start and the track was hammer down so that’s about as good as I could get,” he said. “The car was good all night. I just didn’t get a good start and there was very little passing.”

Smith is very excited with the amount of racing he will do in the coming weeks. This weekend he plans to run at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., on Friday and at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., on Saturday.

“Both shows pay pretty decent and the Lincoln show is $7,000 to win and is the qualifier for the Dirt Classic coming up in September,” he said. “We’ve run very well at Lincoln this year.”

And it won’t be long before the Pennsylvania Speedweek kicks off June 24 and runs through July 3. That’s nine nights of racing over 10 days in the Keystone State.

“We may hit some Ohio Speedweek events prior to that as well,” he said. “It’s a lot of hard work for my guys … that’s an understatement.”
