Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (June 6, 2016) – Travis Rilat is still searching for that first feature victory of the season in the United States and there’s a good chance it will come this weekend.
A pair of Texas tracks are on the schedule beginning on Friday at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont before Saturday’s show at Battleground Speedway in Highlands. Both races are with the ASCS Gulf South Region, in which Rilat currently ranks ninth in the championship standings after missing the most recent race.
“We’ve had great runs at Golden Triangle Raceway Park and at Battleground Speedway so our expectation is to compete for the win each night,” he said. “If we can get ourselves in the feature redraw and start in the first couple of rows for the main event I think we’ll be a contender.”
Rilat has recorded multiple podium finishes at Golden Triangle Raceway Park each of the last two years, including his most recent victory in 2014.
He also earned two podiums during three races at Battleground Speedway last season for the second straight year. Additionally, Rilat drove into the Winner’s Circle at the track for three straight seasons prior to last year.
“We need to get back to Victory Lane and we like our chances to do that this weekend,” he said.
Rilat’s lone triumph this season was in Australia during his first race of the year.
