JBMotorsports finally got to race at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday with the NRA Sprints. This was Jim's first visit to the track and local radio station interviewed the New Mexico racer. Car was fast from the start and Jim in the Heat race would race up to 5th before fading to 7th at the line. This put Jim in the B main and the team was set up correctly and a 5th place finish was just not enough to move onto the A main. Saturday the team planned on running with NRA Sprints at Waynesfield but it would get rained out. The team hustled down to Atomic Speedway for a regular 410 show. Jim was quick off the trailer and timed 21st out of the 28 car field. Heat race action Jim was running a strong 7th before an error entering turn 3 nearly had the car catching the outside fence. Jim saved the car from crashing and lost two positions and finished 9th. In the B main Jim once again was running a strong 7th before finishing 9th. Overall a great test run for the 410 World of Outlaw show that was coming on Monday.
Sunday the NRA Sprints moved to Eldora. Jim would qualify 27th out of 34, a little disappointing as the set up on a dry track was just way to tight. Heat race action Jim had a great start and was in a transfer position but would fade to a 6th place. Jim in the B main looked strong early and was running 8th and moving up. Jim moved up to run the car along the fence and just did not get the drive off the corners as earlier in the B Main. A 11th place finish would end the night for the team. Lastly, Memorial Day at Lawrenceburg Speedway was the World of Outlaw show. Jim was one of the last to qualify and at this point the track had huge ruts in it. All four wheels would come of the ground and it was a handful just to get qualified. Heat race starting behind Kasey Kahne, Jim was hanging in there before hitting a huge rut in turn four and sending the car into the front stretch fence. Damage to the rear end was bad enough that the team could not get it repaired and were a DNF for the B main. The J&J Auto Racing car is getting faster and we are improving a lot and some good finishes are just around the corner.
