Matt and the team had 3 races this Memorial Weekend. Friday night saw us at Williams Grove in the 410 car. It was a good race and the best of the season so far for Matt. There was a little passing back and forth but Matt started 14th and finished 14th.
Saturday saw Matt at Lincoln in the 358. The track was not a good passing track on Saturday night so there wasn't much position movement. Matt started 10th and finished 7th.
Sunday the Team decided to head to Port Royal Speedway for the URC 360 race. This would be the first time Matt has been at this track. 38 cars were on hand for the race. Matt pulled a good starting position and finished 2nd in his heat race. Pill invert put him starting the Feature in the Pole position. As only 1 of 4 358's to compete with the 360 sprints and starting in such a good position, the team was hoping for a top 5 finish. The rain started to fall before the drop of the green and continued the entire race. Matt kept the car on the bottom which was best for the 358. In the end he was able to cross the finish line in the 3rd place position.
After such a good weekend, on Monday we remembered those that are serving or have served our Country so that we can enjoy the freedoms for which we have, racing being only one of them.
