United Racing Club Double this Memorial Day Weekend

With the Memorial Holiday Weekend upon us, the United Racing Club will swing back into action with a double race weekend at the Selinsgrove and Port Royal Speedways.

The action starts on Saturday when the annual Kramer Cup kicks off at Selinsgrove Ford from 10am until 3:30 pm. On hand will be BBQ Chicken, games for the little ones and even a dunk tank where you can take your shot at dunking some of URC's very own drivers. At 4pm the cars will fire up and head down the street to the track to begin the nights racing action.

The Kramer Cup is one of those races, it may not be the highest paying, draw the most cars, but every driver wants to win it because of who the race in run in honor of. Long time URC driver Kramer Williamson who lost his life in a tragic accident at Lincoln Speedway was one of those larger than life drivers. He always had something funny to say and he always had many fans in the stands cheering him on. Last year Burlington NJ's Robbie Stillwaggon bested a field of over 30 cars en route to his first Kramer Cup win. Stillwaggon and the #89 Quality Auto Body team will be looking defend its title and once again bring home the coveted pink trophy.

For Saturday nights races, gates will open at 5pm with heat races starting at 7pm.

The drivers and crews will have a short turn around time because on Sunday night the United Racing Club will be part of the 3 day Weikert Memorial Weekend. The URC Sprints will be competing in a 25-lap feature paying $3,000 to win and $250 to start thanks to Greencastle Livestock Market and Quality Auto Body for their sponsoring efforts.

Special bonuses of $200 each will be paid to the three highest finishing 358 sprint cars that race in the URC main event thanks to Racers Used Parts Warehouse.

Sunday's gates will open at 4 pm with 7 pm racing slated. Last year's URC visit in October was Sleeted out making this the much anticipated return of the 360 sprints to the ultra fast 1/2 mile facility.
