Defending two-time Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Champ Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. is back on top of the point standings after his victory in Saturday night’s 30-lap feature at Perris Auto Speedway. The series returns to The PAS for its next event on April 10.
The win was Spencer’s 14th in series history and left him 20 points ahead of Damion Gardner who won two of the first three races on the calendar, which also carried National sanction.
Spencer grabbed the lead from David Cardey on lap 16 and led the rest of the way in his Madera Produce/Grubstake Mini Storage Maxim/Shaver, beating Matt Mitchell to the checkered flag. Danny Sheridan, Cory Kruseman and Tony Jones rounded out the “top-five” at the finish.
Spencer also posted the fastest qualifying time and won his heat race.
