Blurton Back Behind the Wheel of a 360ci Sprint Car During Busy Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – QUINTER, Kan. (May 24, 2016) – Zach Blurton is excited about the opportunity to race a 360ci sprint car again.

Blurton has driven a 305ci sprint all season, but a great opportunity opened up during a huge week of racing that includes 360 competition throughout Memorial Day weekend.

Blurton has five races planned in five days beginning Thursday at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Neb., with the 305 sprints.

“I did a speedweek once, but this is the first time in a long time that I have this many races in a row,” he said. “I’m excited to get to race that much and to get back in a 360 sprint. I raced one once last year and did pretty good. I just hope the weather holds out. We have other plans if some of them are impacted by weather.”

Blurton will then drop a 360 engine into his sprint car and head to Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., on Friday and 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., on Saturday to compete with the GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 NCRA/NSL Region.

“A family friend is letting us use his 360 engine,” he said. “I can’t thank Brett enough for the chance.”

Blurton will wrap up the weekend by putting the 305 engine back in his sprint car and heading to WaKeeney Speedway in WaKeeney, Kan., for a doubleheader on Sunday and Monday with the United Rebel Sprint Series.

Blurton is currently second in the URSS National and Kansas Region points and he ranks sixth in the Colorado Region points. He is 13th in the IMCA standings.
