Inside Line Promotions – LERNERVILLE, Pa. (May 18, 2016) – Caleb Helms is heading west this weekend for an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader.

Helms will make his debut at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill., on Friday before he makes only his second career start at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Saturday.

“Sometimes it’s tough (going to unfamiliar tracks) if there are little nuances with the track that you have to pick up where you just have to run laps to figure it out,” he said. “It seems like we do this more and more and it gets easier to pick up where you need to be and how to run around the track.”

Helms was in contention for a great finish during his lone trip to Wilmot Raceway in July 2013 before a mechanical problem relegated him to a 17th-place result.

“We were running fourth with four laps to go and had a rocker arm break,” he said. “I remember the track was rough on top and the leaders were running the bottom. I think it can get wide there.”

Helms is coming off a 16th-place result with the All Stars last Friday at Lernerville Speedway, where he opened the event by qualifying 21st quickest.

“We were pushing like a boathouse in qualifying and I didn’t qualify good,” he said. “Then we raced our way into the feature through the heat race.”

Helms advanced from sixth to fifth place in a heat race to lock into the 17th starting position for the main event.

“In the feature I wasn’t quite comfortable,” he said. “There was a cushion around the top of the track and two cars had flipped. We were running it, but I wanted to make sure I saved my equipment so I was probably too conservative.”

Last Saturday’s All Star race at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pa., rained out.
