Tulare, CA - After qualifying at the top of the speed chart, Trey Marcham wheeled the number 81x Steve Watt Maxwell Industries USAC West Coast Sprint Car to a 2nd place podium finish at Saturday night's "Chris and Brian Faria Memorial" USAC West Coast Sprint race at the Merle Stone Chevrolet Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California.
After inverting the field's top four spots for the A-feature lineup, Marcham took his 4th place starting position quickly to 2nd place where he diligently worked to pick off the leader. Eventually, the front two began lapping other cars. "Navigating the lapped cars in traffic and on the restarts made it more difficult," Marcham stated, "but we had a fast car and I want to thank my car owner for that."
Saturday's results put Marcham 3rd in points in the USAC West Coast Sprint Car series. Marcham's next USAC West Coast Sprint Race is June 18 at Santa Maria Raceway in Santa Maria, CA. Look for his brother Josh Marcham at the 2nd Annual Oklahoma Grand Prix race at I44 Riverside Speedway on June 3-4.
