Mother Nature took the first win of the season away from the Main Event Racing Series and the MSA Supermodified teams. The series were scheduled to race the Super Nationals Saturday at Sandusky Speedway however it was cancelled due to 'extreme cold temperatures for the racing season' and off and on rain throughout the day and into the evening. The event was cancelled late Friday evening by officials at Sandusky Speedway. Kevin Jaycox, owner of Sandusky Speedway stated that these are tough decisions to make. "We certainly wanted to race given that this is the first race for two divisions 2016 sesason. We anticipated 20 - 22 Super Late Models and 15 Supermodifieds. We just can not take the chance of having teams racing in cold temperatures and possibly damaging equipment and have fans sitting in the stands in damp and near freezing conditions." According to Officials from Sandusky Speedway, they are going to make every effort to reschedule the race which is complicated by trying to find a date that works for both the Main Event Racing Series and the MSA Supermodifieds, another group that was scheduled to race. The Main Event Racing Series now heads to Barberton Speedway on June 4th and the MSA Supermodifieds will run their season opener at Lorain County Speedway next week.
