Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (May 12, 2016) – Jack Dover is still searching for that first win of the season.

“We’re working hard to get the car to work how we want it to,” he said. “It’s taking longer than we wanted, but we’ll turn the corner soon.”

Dover competed in a pair of races last weekend, beginning on Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“We got a good start to the heat race and went from fourth to second right away,” he said. “That was good enough to get us in the redraw.”

Dover earned enough points to advance into the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 5 to start the main event on the inside of the third row. However, the car was a handful throughout the feature and Dover hung on for a 13th-place result.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway for an ASCS Red River Region and ASCS Warrior Region event, which Dover opened by winning a heat race after starting on the outside of the front row.

Once again that was good enough to make the feature redraw. This time Dover pulled the No. 4 to start the main event on the outside of the second row.

“We battled for a top five throughout the race, but just didn’t have the handling like we needed to move forward,” he said.

Dover ended with a sixth-place finish, which marked his third top 10 of the season.
