MYERSTOWN, Pa. (May 9, 2016) – With three consecutive nights of competition in the books, Brent Marks can finally rest his head, for now. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native went back-to-back with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the recent weekend, followed up by a head-on collision with the “Pennsylvania Posse. ” When the dust settled, Marks earned one podium finish, as well as one feature start against the “Greatest Show on Dirt.” The “Myerstown Missile” logged over 1,000 miles and nearly 20 hours of travel time in three days.
“We had a great weekend…traveling will never get old,” explained Brent Marks. “We are proud of what we accomplished, but we still have some work to do. I feel like we have the potential to always be better than where we finish, especially against the Outlaws. Qualifying is so important with those guys. You miss your entry by an inch, you’re off by a second. But, that’s why we want to race with those guys as often as we do; we want to nail down qualifying and work to be one of the best in the world.”
Brent Marks launched his recent stretch of activity with the #LetsRaceTwo weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The “Myerstown Missile” joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars for two nights at the Big E, qualifying for one main event which resulted in a 13th place performance on Saturday, May 7. Marks earned his way into the 30-lap, $10,000-to-win, main event by finishing fourth during his respective heat race, a giant rebound after not qualifying for feature competition on Friday, May 6.
Brent Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M, capped off his weekend cannonball run with action at Susquehanna Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, May 8. The eight hour trek back across Ohio and Pennsylvania proved to be well worth the effort, ending the Kevin Gobrecht Classic at Susquehanna on the podium, third officially, after starting ninth.
“I think the trip proved to be very beneficial for our team,” said Brent Marks. “We are constantly learning and trying to improve. Racing with the World of Outlaws will not only benefit us as a team, but me as a driver. That’s what this is all about. We’ll be close to home this weekend. We’re excited to spend a little time with friends and family.”
A pair of high dollar, high profile programs will headline the upcoming weekend schedule for Brent Marks, all within two hours of his Myerstown, Pennsylvania, home. The potential $9,000 weekend will kick off on Friday night, May 13, at Williams Grove Speedway. The “Outlaw Tune-Up” will act as the main attraction, awarding a $4,000 top prize at the completion of the full, World of Outlaws-style program. The “Outlaw Tune-Up” will give Brent Marks and his crew one last chance to qualify around the Williams Grove Speedway half-mile before the upcoming World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invasion on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21.
The upcoming weekend will conclude on Saturday, May 14, at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. BAPS Night will take over the Pigeon Hills, awarding a $5,000 paycheck.
“A lot of money on the line this weekend. This would be a great time to earn our second and third victories of the season.”
