Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 2, 2016) – Jason Sides earned one of the biggest victories of his career last Tuesday at I-30 Speedway, where he powered to his 15th career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win at a track that is located only two hours from his hometown.

“You always want to come home and run well in front of your fans, sponsors, friends and family,” he said. “To get the win, I didn’t expect that. I did a few donuts and stirred up a little dust in the infield. We were the last ones to leave there.”

The triumph gives Sides at least one World of Outlaws victory during six of the last eight seasons and it puts him only two wins out of tying for the top 20 in all-time Outlaws triumphs.

The night began with Sides qualifying sixth quickest around the quarter-mile oval, which was hosting its first World of Outlaws race in more than 20 years.

“When we qualified I felt pretty good,” he said. “We were fourth quick for a while and then two cars got us. I watched the last few cars and I thought someone would bump us from the front row of a heat race, but we stuck there.”

That lined Sides up on the outside of the front row for the final heat race. He maintained the second-place position to lock himself into the dash.

“They drew a six for the dash and that put us on the pole, which was good,” he said. “But down on the bottom off turn four it was still so good and sticky that you almost wanted to be on the outside. It was so wet when you’d come off the corner your car would do wheelies. It was good to race, but for restarts it was too good. Brady (Bacon) got the jump on the start and he won the dash. That put us on the outside for the start of the feature.”

Sides took advantage of the opportunity once the green flag was waved for the main event. He quickly jumped into the lead and never looked back.

“Track position was good and our car was good,” he said. “Brady got beside us at one point, but
they were going to have to pass me on the outside because I wasn’t going to get off the bottom.”

Sides held onto the lead throughout the 40-lap feature to score the special victory.

Last weekend’s World of Outlaws races were cancelled because of the weather. Sides is slated to return to action this Wednesday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., and Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, with the World of Outlaws.
