Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 28, 2016) – Brandon Hanks recorded a trio of successful debuts during the last week.

The action began last Friday at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., where Hanks made his first visit with the ASCS Red River Region. He won a heat race to advance into the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 6 to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“We should have left the car alone,” he said. “Thinking the track would still be there we freed the car up and that hurt us. I was good enough I could watch the three guys in front of me battle, but I was slow enough I couldn’t get in the mix. The track was pretty racy and I had a good time. We just needed to be a little tighter.”

Hanks finished with a fourth-place result.

He made his debut at Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo., the ensuing night. Hanks charged from fifth to third place in an ASCS Red River Region heat race to qualify for the feature redraw. This time he pulled the second-highest number – seven – to line up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“Once the track started laying rubber and the track started to get better we started moving forward,” he said. “About the time I got going and started passing cars it was too late. We were running them down, but we ran out of laps. I felt like I had a car that was better than fourth place, but that’s where we finished.”

Hanks ended fourth for the second straight night. He now holds a 69-point advantage in the ASCS Red River Region championship standings.

The excitement continued on Tuesday, when Hanks made his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and 410ci debut at I-30 Speedway.

He qualified 14th quickest, placed eighth in a heat race and finished second in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the main event.

“I had a blast,” he said. “Making the show was a big deal to me. Knowing that I was doing the four wide and all that was going on was pretty bone chilling. I never really imagined myself racing with the Outlaws and being a part of something like that. I had the time of my life.”

Hanks battled around the top 15 for most of the race before ending 18th.

He is scheduled to return to competition with the World of Outlaws this Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.
