Inside Line Promotions – BYERS, Colo. (April 26, 2016) – It’s been a great week for 17-year-old Zac Taylor. He won a 305ci sprint car feature last Saturday and the next day he announced he had secured a midget ride.

“It was an awesome weekend for sure,” he said. “I’m excited to team up with Todd Henry for the midget deal.”

Taylor has raced the 305 sprint car class the past four years and now has accumulated nine wins in that time, including Saturday at Colorado Motorsports Park with the United Rebel Sprint Series.

“We started fifth in our heat and finished second,” he said. “It felt really good considering I hadn’t been in a sprint car since the end of last season. In the redraw we got the No. 2 putting us outside the front row. By the first corner I had the lead. Then it was just getting through lapped traffic on a really, really, really rough track. I lapped up to sixth place. The race went non-stop.”

Taylor will not race this weekend, but he will return to the cockpit May 7 at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo., for his second midget race of 2016. Todd Henry has picked Taylor to drive his midget on the Rocky Mountain Midget Association tour this season.

“I drove for Cory Kruseman at the Chili Bowl in January,” Taylor said. “What an eye-opening experience that was. Now I’m teaming up with Todd Henry to race his midget. I can’t thank Todd enough for the opportunity. I love driving the midgets. They are a lot more fun. In a midget it’s more about the driver than the set-up.”
