Inside Line Promotions – THE WOODLANDS, Texas (April 25, 2016) – When a team has a couple of weeks off from a grueling racing schedule it can be a blessing and somewhat frustrating. For Tommy Bryant and his Cooper Motorsports team it has been both.
“Having some time off gives you a chance to go through everything on the car, in the shop and in the trailer and make sure you are ready when the season REALLY kicks into gear,” Bryant said. “But at the same time, I’m pacing the floor.
“Having the time off … there’s that uncertainty; are we going to be as good or better when we get back to racing or could we take a step backwards? I have confidence we will return as strong or stronger. My guys work too hard and I can’t let them down.”
Besides cleaning and stocking the trailer and going over every inch of the SawBlade.com sponsored sprint car, Bryant said the team’s shocks were sent back to Momentum Racing Suspensions for inspection.
“We won’t change much on the car … it was working pretty well,” he said. “We sent the shocks back to Brad at Momentum to clean and check over. Other than that I’m just ready to get back to the track.”
Bryant, who has four top fives and seven top 10s in nine races this season, will return to the track May 6 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and May 7 at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
