McMahan Records Texas Sized Top-10

PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to trend the right direction, Paul McMahan and his Destiny Motorsports team recorded a Top-10 finish on Friday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway and were well on their way to another solid finish until late contact saw their machine get upside down.

“I am really proud of this team and how far we have come since our first race together in January,” Paul McMahan said. “It may not seem great to outsiders looking in but were starting to get consistent and with consistency comes better results.”

Friday night in Mesquite, TX, McMahan timed the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in 10th fastest before tallying a fourth place finish in heat race competition.

Lining up in the fifth row of the 25-lap feature event, McMahan would hold strong as he spent the duration of the night battling in the Top-10. Battling with Jason Sides, Logan Schuchart and Sam Hafertepe during much of the race, McMahan would pick up a ninth place finish at the stripe.

Saturday night would see the team time in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials before again finishing fourth in his heat race.

By way of his heat race finish, the Elk Grove, CA native turned Nashville, TN resident would take the field from the 11th starting position. Just as he did a night before, McMahan was able to move forward and spend much of the feature event battling inside the Top-10.

With just six laps to go in the feature event, contact to the rear of his car from another competitor would get the No. 7 machine sideways down the backstretch when another car would get into him and get his machine upside down.

“We were pretty good both nights, and were on our way to keeping a streak of Top-10’s alive, but it didn’t play out,” McMahan added. “Tearing up equipment happens but when it is unnecessary it doesn’t sit well. We will roll our sleeves up and get ready for Little Rock on Tuesday night. I really have to thank Scott and Tyler for working so hard.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-26, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-6.
