Knoxville, IA (April 20, 2016)-This past weekend, Agan Motorsports hit the track once again at Knoxville Raceway. With thirty-three 360s there was a great field of cars which included several ASCS National teams as well as the Knoxville regulars.
Jon registered a qualifying effort that was 9th quick. This set him up to start outside the second row in the 1st heat race. Jon lead the majority of the race then misjudged a lap car which led to a second place finish.
The Dee Zee, Inc. #4 started 8th in the feature and ran around that spot for the first half of the race. The team took a chance on a set-up that didn’t work out as planned. The race had a few restarts that didn’t play in Jon’s favor and hurt their result. The feature ended with a 12th place finish.
“The car felt good qualifying but we just lacked a little speed. We made some adjustments for the heat race and really felt strong. I just closed a lot faster on a lap car than I expected and hung myself out a little bit, “ Agan said. “We knew the feature was going to be tough but had confidence going into it. We had been fighting a brake issue all night that held us up some. It seemed like we would get rolling a little the longer we ran. There were a few cautions and they seemed to fall at times when we didn’t really need them. Unfortunately we struggled on the restarts and that kept us from ending the night with a stronger finishing position.”
Next up-Knoxville Raceway this Saturday, April 23rd.
