The Lonestar 600's travel south to Gulf Coast Speedway in Alvin, Tx. to join them on the tracks opening night. We had 20 non wings, 3 Restrictor's, 3 Jr. Sprint's signed in and ready to race. After a little late start for the night we ran through our heats and got everyone lined up for the features. First out was the Jr. Sprints. Only 2 drivers Christopher Townsend and Christian Kreuger made it out for the feature. The third car drove by Trevor Twardeski scratched due to an injury from a heat race mishap between him and Christian. The green would drop and Christopher would jump to an early lead over Christian. Christopher would find himself in victory lane. Christian being his first ever race in a Jr Sprint ran a great second. We look forward to have him join the Lonestar 600 series. Next out was our Restrictor's. Cole Tipton would lead the field to the green flag and would take the lead over Timothy Watson early. Cole would lead it from green to checkered putting him on the top spot for the night. Following a close third was Wyatt Bruce. Finally rounding out the night was the full 20 car field of the non wing 600's. We would get everyone lined up and take the green Adam Miller would capture his first ever pole in his 600 career. He would lead the field into turn 4 and drag race Wyatt Rector into turn 1 and win that battle. Only to be called back due to a 6 car pile up in turn 3. All 6 cars would be sent to the rear. We would get the field in order and try it again. The flag would drop again and we would get a full lap in but then the yellow would fly to a spinning car of Albert Kelly taking the scenic route out and off the top of turn 3. We would rope him up and bring him back onto the racing surface. The field would get lined back up and get going again to only be slowed by the yellow to a car sitting the wrong way in turn 2. After getting him turned back around we would finally stay green for more than one lap. Wyatt Rector would prevail when it counted and stay out front. Several laps later Homer Bailey would spin Collin Traylor. That wreck would tangle up taking out with them Jeffrie Flisowski and Caleb Padgett. Jeffrie and Caleb would not be able to return to the race. We would get them lined up nose to tail and restart the race with only a handful of laps left. So to be red flagged by an upside down Albert Kelly. He would be ok. The cars would get fired back up and try this one more time. Wyatt Rector would cross the checkers first followed by Collin Traylor then Matt McDade. Thanks to all that came out and give Gulf Coast a great opening night. Next race is scheduled for 4/30 Track to be determined with the closing of Bronco Raceway. Stay tuned we will have an announcement soon to fill the 4 dates that were scheduled at Bronco.
