Dupo, IL (April 1, 2016) After a hugely successful rookie season in 2015, 21-year-old Kyle Schuett is poised and ready to take on new challenges in 2016. While Schuett Racing had a great season last year, prior to the Indy Invitational the team decided to pursue new opportunities and return the operation to their own Philo, Illinois race shop. Kyle is excited about the challenge of being more hands on and involved in the day to day operations of his race team, and he is also excited about the success they have found as a team so far.
The off-season has brought a number of changes to the Schuett Racing team. The most prominent of those changes is the welcoming of a new primary sponsor, Health Alliance based in Urbana, Illinois. With the current national focus on health care, Schuett Racing is proud to partner with the largest health insurer in downstate Illinois. Health Alliance has been in business for more than 30 years, and it currently serves more than 380,000 members in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and Washington. For more information on Health Alliance, visit HealthAlliance.org. Schuett Racing is excited to have Health Alliance on board and looks forward to working with them.
In 2016, Schuett Racing looks to branch out its racing experience and are hoping to run a large number of both USAC National midget races and POWRi National races throughout the year. A complete schedule is in the works and will be available soon. While he knows it will be tough to top the season he had last year, which included winning the POWRi Rookie of the Year honors, the National Midget Driver of the Year Rookie honors, and the high profile Indy Invitational, Kyle is looking forward to expanding his racing experience by traveling to new venues with the top two midget sanctioning bodies in the country. This past weekend, Kyle and the Schuett Racing team traveled to DuQuoin, Illinois to unveil and test out their new DRC Chassis at the USAC season opener. With well over 50 cars, and track conditions making passing extremely tough, Kyle became victim to track position and ended his night with a seventh place finish in the B-main event. While not the results the team hoped for, Kyle left DuQuoin with a positive outlook toward the 2016 season. He was very happy with how his Joe Devin built, DRC Chassis with Factory Kahne suspension worked and is looking forward to the outdoor racing season. Up next for the Schuett Racing team will be Kokomo Grand Prix on April 8th and 9th with the USAC National midgets.
In addition to welcoming Health Alliance, the Schuett Racing team would also like to welcome new sponsors Safety Kleen, Diversified Machine Incorporated (DMI), Smith Titanium, Max Pappis, and DRC Chassis. Returning to Schuett Racing will be 12-year sponsor Progressive Propane, as well as AMSOIL, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Hooker Harness, Rod End Supply, Steve Thomas Racing, FK Indy, Keizer Wheels,Bergfield Farms, R & B Powdercoating J & K Property Rentals, LLC, and Illiana Insurance, a division of First Mid Insurance Group. Kyle and his entire Schuett Racing team would like to thank all these sponsors for their support in the upcoming race season, and look forward to working with each of them to keep the Schuett 9K moving to the front of the pack.
