Inside Line Promotions – ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (April 5, 2016) – Joe Trenca is content with how his season opener went last Saturday at Lincoln Speedway.

“We kept it in one piece and found the problem we were having early in the night and went forward in the feature so all in all it was a decent night,” he said. “We’re satisfied.”

The night began with the Mucci Motorsports team missing hot laps because of a mechanical problem.

“We had a fuel line problem early and didn’t get hot laps,” he said. “It was a weird scenario. We had to move a bracket and replace a line. It was just something that never happens and sure enough it happened. We barely made it out for the heat race. It was kind of a rough night, but we got it fixed and made the show.”

Trenca advanced from eighth to seventh place in a heat race, which relegated him to the B Main. He then earned a fourth-place finish in the consolation race to transfer into the main event.

“I’d only had about eight laps on that track before so I really didn’t have a lot of time on it and I’d never been on it with a 410,” he said. “We didn’t have much time to concentrate on the car. I was just trying to get track time. I wasn’t worried about trying to charge my way forward. It was about keeping pace early. I was learning the track and running my own race.”

Trenca maneuvered from his 22nd starting position to register a 16th-place result.

The team is scheduled to compete this Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., where Trenca elected to skip last weekend because of weather concerns, and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.

“I’m excited to run Williams Grove,” he said. “There’s something about it that I’ve always loved. And in past years we’ve had some good runs at Selinsgrove. We have a little different motor deal with the 360 this year so we’re hoping it will shine.”
