Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (March 29, 2016) – Joe Trenca has put a lot of work into this weekend’s season-opening doubleheader.
The Mucci Motorsports driver will make his season debut on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., before tackling Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., on Saturday.
“It’s definitely going to be tough,” he said. “Central Pennsylvania is one of the hardest places to race sprint cars. We know it will be a challenge and with us not having much experience in the 410 it will be tough. We put a lot of hard work in during the winter. We feel like we have some really good packages that will help us.”
Not only will this weekend mark the first time Trenca has opened a season at a 410 event, it will also be Trenca’s 410 debut at both tracks.
“The faster tracks seem to fit my driving style better,” he said. “It’s definitely a different animal. Williams Grove is a different track. I haven’t seen too many guys show up the first race and be competitive. Plus, we’re starting off brand new with everything. It’ll take a couple of races to feel comfortable and know what to do as the track is changing.
“Lincoln is a place like I’ve never seen before. It’s real close racing and it’s fast. I know it can get tricky there. I just have to watch myself and race my own race.”
