Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (March 28, 2016) – Trey Starks will ride a load of confidence into a Summer Thunder Sprint Series doubleheader this weekend at Central Washington State Fair Raceway.
Starks won his most recent feature at the track in Yakima, Wash., last September, when he wrapped up the inaugural Western Sprint Tour championship.
“It’s always a fun track to go to because we don’t get to race there very often,” he said. “We finally broke through last year and earned our first win in Yakima so I’m looking forward to going back and hopefully keeping the momentum going.”
This weekend will mark the season debut in the Northwest for Starks, who will compete at the fast oval on Friday and Saturday.
“It’s nice to be back near home racing,” he said. “We started the year at Winter Heat in Arizona and then doing the first half of the World of Outlaws swing in the West. I think we’ve got the kinks worked out and we will be ahead of the game entering this weekend.”
Starks is coming off his career-best season with eight feature wins to go with the Western Sprint Tour championship. However, this season hasn’t started as strong, which Starks hopes to flip this weekend at the track where he picked up his most recent victory in his home state.
“Momentum and confidence are big parts of any race team and I think we have both entering this weekend,” he said. “Our goal is to compete for the win each night and I feel confident we have a team capable of doing that.”
