Brody Roa leads the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars into this Saturday night’s race at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford, Calif. Roa has a 20-point lead over D.J. Johnson in the standings entering the race.
Roa has a second and a pair of fourths in three starts this season, while Johnson has a victory at Tulare, a third and a ninth so far. Johnson’s best 2015 Hanford finish was a second and Roa’s was a fourth.
Last year’s four races at Kings produced four different winners. They were defending series champion Danny Faria Jr., Ryan Bernal and the Vander Weerds, Richard and Jace.
Stevie Sussex of Tempe, Ariz. wheeled the Mike Burkhart Stratis Construction/Westin Diversified RSS/Chevy to victory in last Saturday night’s 30-lap “Easter Eggstravaganza” USAC Southwest Sprint Car race at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. The victory vaulted Sussex to the series point lead as he led the final 15 laps after passing Charles Davis Jr. on lap 16. Josh Pelkey raced to second place ahead of R.J. Johnson, Matt Rossi and Tom Ogle. Bruce St. James led the first two laps before yielding to Davis.
The USAC Southwest Sprint Cars now target Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek where they compete April 9.
