Dills Focusing on 360 Track Championship at Cottage Grove Speedway in 2016

Inside Line Promotions – COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (March 25, 2016) – Patrick Dills is aiming for another track championship this season.

Except in 2016 he’s going after the 360ci sprint car title at Cottage Grove Speedway, which is the high-banked, quarter-mile oval located within a couple miles of where he grew up.

“We are putting more of a priority on 360 racing this year,” he said. “We had a really strong season in 2015 so hopefully we can continue that momentum as we step up our program this year.”

Dills captured his first career Cottage Grove Speedway championship in a sprint car last year when he won three features en route to the Extreme Sprints title. Overall, Dills picked up 10 top-five finishes in 13 Extreme Sprints features.

“Last year was a blast in the Extreme Sprints class and we will still fill in open dates on our schedule in 2016 with races in that class,” he said. “We want to focus on putting together that type of consistency this year in the 360s.”

Dills finished a career-best second twice last year in 360 main events at Cottage Grove Speedway. His three top-five finishes helped propel him to a third-place result in the championship standings. Dills also finished sixth in the Western Sprint Tour points standings despite missing three races.

“We learned a lot and gained a ton of confidence last year,” he said. “I think we will be a contender for the 360 track title this season and we can pick up a few wins.”

The first race of the season is scheduled for April 9 at Cottage Grove Speedway.
