Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (March 24, 2016) – The 6th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout kicked off Thursday evening at 81 Speedway, where more than 20 sprint car drivers took part in the practice night in anticipation for this weekend’s GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 Sprint Car Series inaugural event.

A dozen competitors tackled the 3/8-mile oval during a special qualifying session, which has no bearing on the remainder of the $10,000-to-win event that will feature complete shows on Friday and Saturday.

Sheldon Haudenschild earned a $500 bonus for setting quick time with Thomas Kennedy netting $300 for being second quickest and Cody Ledger $200 for timing in third quickest in the session.

Action resumes on Friday for the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout, which is co-sanctioned with the GoMuddy.com NCRA/NSL 360 Region, with the front gate scheduled to open at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. The cost is only $20 per person for grandstand admission.

Complete racing programs will take place on Friday and Saturday. Drivers will start each night by drawing a random pill, which will determine the lineups for the heat races. Passing points will be calculated based on the results of the heats. There will then be qualifiers, which will have an inversion determined by the car count. The combined points earned through the heat races and qualifiers will set the feature lineups.

Any driver who does not compete Friday night can’t start any further forward than 11th in Saturday’s A Main.

Friday night pays $1,500 to win and $250 to start with Saturday providing $10,000 to win, $6,000 for second, $4,000 for third and $500 to start. All drivers will compete for the same purse with eligible NSL members earning points toward the Cash Bowl, which has more than $500,000 up for grabs this year.
