CSP Opener: Jarrett Dominates Heat Race; Part Failure Strikes While Leading the Feature to End His Night Early.

The K Corp sponsored Streaker Racing team was back in action this past weekend for the 3rd race of the Power 600 Series season.

21 cars checked into Canyon Speedway Park for the winged event. The team drew 16 in pill draw which would put Jarrett on the pole for Heat 3.

Jarrett would get off to a great start and wouldn’t look back. Jarrett would lead every lap of the Heat and would have a full straightaway on the field, leading to his 3rd Heat race win of the season and his 5th Heat race win in 2016.

With the top 6 in passing points from Heat race action being inverted in the Main, Jarrett would end up starting on the outside of row 1.

Jarrett would get off to a good start and would battle for the lead coming out of turn 2, but the caution would fly for a wreck behind the leaders. On the restart, Jarrett would make the pass for the lead coming out of turn 2 and would begin to pull away from the field. He would open up his lead to over a second as he caught lap traffic, but, the lead would disappear as the yellow would come out for a spin in turn 4 with 14 laps to go. A lap wouldn’t be completed before the next yellow for a wreck in turn 2. On the 2nd attempt with 14 to go Jarrett would get off to a good start, but the right front steering arm would break in the middle of the turn 1 and Jarrett would drift up the track. He was able to regain control of the car, but again wouldn’t be able to make the car turn in 3 and 4 and would eventually have to pull the car into the infield ending his night early. Jarrett would end up being credited with a 17th place finish.

Jarrett looks to rebound on March 26th as part of the Easter Eggstravaganza at Canyon Speedway Park.
