TULSA, Okla. (March 1, 2016) The Southwest Region of the ASCS Nation opened their 2016 season at the Central Arizona Speedway on Saturday, February 27. Racing for an increased purse in 2016, it was announced during the Driver’s Meeting that Carlyle Tools by NAPA has stepped on as the title sponsor of the ASCS Southwest Region in 2016.
With the inclusion of Carlyle Tools as the title sponsor of the ASCS Southwest Region, the 2016 point fund will come to $15,000.
“Carlyle Tools came on this season as a Team Lucas supporter of the American Sprint Car Series. They were big at the Chili Bowl, and wanted to be more involved with Sprint Cars, and the Southwest Region is a great fit for not only Carlyle Tools, but for our teams as well,” said ASCS Founder, Emmett Hahn. “Roger Toops and his wife, Kim, do a great job. They’ve really built a great series and we’re proud to have them and look forward to what the partnership with Carlyle Tools will do for the drivers in our Southwest Region.”
Stretching from West Texas to Arizona, the ASCS Southwest Region is in its ninth season of competition. Rick Ziehl has been the dominating force within the region the past eight years, having never lost a series championship.
The 2016 season includes 20 nights of racing for the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region. Action gets back underway on Saturday, March 12 at the Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. For information on the Canyon Speedway Park, log onto http://www.canyonspeedwaypark.com.
