SAPULPA, Okla. (February 9, 2016) With the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour about to start up, Blake Hahn is also focused on building his Midget program in 2016. A part of Hard 8 Racing the past five years in events like the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals, the decision was made to part ways following the 2016 Chili Bowl.
“I appreciate the opportunity John Kantor and the Hard 8 Racing team gave me and can’t thank him enough. We have not parted on bad terms, and will continue to help each other,” said Hahn.
Carrying the team’s partnership with Lucas Oil Products over to the Midget team in 2016, Blake is also pleased to announce their partnership with Toyota as the exclusive engine supplier of the BHR No. 52 in 2016.
“Toyota has put together an engine program that we just couldn’t turn down and right now, if you want to be competitive in Midget racing, a Toyota under the hood is pretty much the best way to go,” said Hahn of the new partnership. “We have several Lucas Oil National POWRi shows, as well as regional shows we want to run this year, and we feel confident in having Toyota power that we will be able to perform very well.”
Along with Lucas Oil and Toyota, the team has also partnered with Triple X Chassis for the 2016 season.
“When we were in Washington last year running Dirt Cup, we went through the Triple X Chassis warehouse and saw what they had to offer. I’ve run their products for several years on our car, and have run their chassis’ before, and they are great quality. We run a Triple X frame in our Shootout car, and have the Golden Drillers to show how well the cars work so to have them step up the way they did for this team to come together, it was really the final piece that had to fall in place to make this thing fly.”
Asked about the 2016 Midget lineup, Blake said the team is still working on the final details, but noted events like POWRi at Port City and the Jason Leffler Memorial as events that are for sure on this season’s lineup.
Further details, and full Midget racing lineups will be posted as soon as they are finalized.
