2016 Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series Season
The 2016 Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprint Series racing season is fast approaching. We recently released our 2016 schedule which with the exception of a couple of tentative dates is largely complete. Due to issues created by various sanctioning bodies and other issues we had gotten off to a slow start this year, but we believe most of these issues have been worked through. Since as a group we decided to stay with our own program, I ask that our race teams participate in as many of our scheduled races as possible.
The NCRA is no longer going to co-sanction our shows at the Butler County Speedway or the Junction Motor Speedway so please make an extra effort to include these races on your schedule. We have been working with the South Dakota based Midwest Sprint Touring Series (MSTS) to co-sanction at least five races at three different race tracks, those races being three at Park Jefferson and one each at Denison and Off Road Speedway.
We are reaching out to all for support, as we need to keep our car counts up to keep both the promoters and the fans happy. The Nebraska 360 car counts having been holding at an average of about 24 cars per show annually, but we have some low points which have some track owners and promoters concerned about our ability to bring cars. At I-80 Speedway we have been gaining in car count and we believe the trend there is good.
Our purse will be the same as last year, with the exception of the fact that we have not yet signed on a Hard Charger Award Sponsor. We are still working on that, and can use all the help we can get, so if anyone has any ideas or people that might be interested, please let us know.
I have purchased a trailer to use as our office at the race tracks. If we get everything worked out we will have lineups in a digital format and not my scribbles or the excellent hand writing of Bobbi Jo, Lauren or anyone that made it more legible.
Our membership fee is $50 per year which helps us to pay for our operating expenses such as subscriptions to our website, speednet direct, the writing of checks, accounting fees and other miscellaneous overhead items.
So please join the Nebraska 360 Sprint Series today as we already have expenses to cover. Send your checks to; Nebraska 360 Sprints, 3338 Broadway, Council Bluffs, IA 51501
Our first race of the year will be the Spring Meltdown at I-80 Speedway on April 1 & 2 with each night paying $2,000 to win. Hope to see you there.
Let’s make this our best year together !!
