Jamie Veal's strong weekend and year continued last night when he won the 2nd qualifying night of the Australian Sprintcar Championship.
Ian Madsen was leading for much of the 30 lap feature before being passed by Veal with 5 laps to go. Shortly after Madsen, Chase Karpenko and Steven Lines were involved in an incident which put Madsen and Karpenko out and Lines restated at the back on the pack.
Veal went on to win in front of Darren Mollenoyux and John Vogels making it an all Victorian podium.
Little known Northern Territorian Chase Karpenko was the driver of the night.
After starting from pole, he was running in a podium position all night until he got caught up in the incident with Madsen and Lines.
Tonight will be the final night of action for the Australian Championship and a busy fortnight of racing.
