5th Annual Nolan Wren Memorial

This event has grown to be one of the largest sprint race in southeast Texas to celebrate the legacy of Ralph Nolan Wren, 65 of Iola, passed away on Monday September 26th, 2011, in Houston. Mr. Wren was born in Navasota on March 19, 1946 to Wiley & Estelle (Adams) Wren. He lived all of his life in Iola and had been a member of the Iola Missionary Baptist Church since March 22, 1964. Mr. Wren was the previous owner of Wren’s Wheel Alignment in Bryan. He was a Mason and a member of the Bedias Masonic Lodge #651 AM & FM and the Iola Lodge where he was past Master. He enjoyed restoring old cars, but his passion was racing sprint cars and watching his sons race.
Nolan raced with many of the legends that are still racing today and this event features his son's Ralph and Troy Wren in the winged 600 micro sprints with the Lonestar 600's series. It also will feature the Southern United Sprints IMCA Racesaver Series, and the American Sprint Car Series at Gator Motorplex in Willis, TX (14350 Hwy 75 South)
