Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (Jan. 13, 2016) – Dale Blaney is nearly speechless about his latest honor, which places him among the greats of sprint car racing.

It was announced Tuesday night that Blaney was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Class of 2016. The ceremony is scheduled for June 4.

“Words can’t describe how I feel,” he said. “For my dad to be inducted three years ago, then Dave two years ago and now myself, it’s pretty special.”

Blaney’s father, Lou, was inducted as part of the Class of 2013 and his brother, Dave, is part of the Class of 2014.

“Truthfully I really never gave it much thought,” Dale Blaney said. “My main goal was to win the next race I was going to and that’s as far ahead as I was looking. I’ve been around sprint car racing my whole life. I just love the sport. It’s a pretty prestigious honor.”

Blaney has claimed six Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions championships, including three straight, as well as the 1991 track title at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. He has 127 career All Star feature wins – 29 more than any other driver – and 11 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victories.

Several of the marquee events Blaney has been victorious in include the 2015 Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, the 2010 and 1996 Brad Doty Classic, the 2000 Kings Royal and the 1998 Historical Big One among many others.

Blaney recently opened the 2016 season by guiding the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team to a victory and four top-five finishes during the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., where he placed second in the event standings.

His win, which came on Jan. 1, gives him at least one victory during each of his 27 years of racing.
