Inside Line Promotions – QUINTER, Kan. (Jan. 11, 2016) – This week will mark only the second time Zach Blurton has competed in a midget and once again the opportunity comes during the premier midget event in the country.
Blurton will drive for Don Droud Jr. at the 30th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals Presented by General Tire with practice on Monday, preliminary competition on Thursday and the finale on Saturday.
“I’m excited and ready to get back at it,” he said. “We’re on Thursday night qualifying and I’m ready to get back in the car on practice night and get used to it again. This being the second time I’ve done it I feel a little more comfortable going into it.”
Blurton, who made his Chili Bowl debut in 2014, also welcomes Brahma Group, Inc. and WK Construction on board as partners for the marquee event that has a record of nearly 350 entries.
“I want to thank the guys at Midwest Ag Professionals Inc. as well as Brahma Group, Inc. and WK Construction for their support,” he said. “I just want to go on the track and try to pass cars or at least hold my position every time. If I could somehow make the preliminary night A Main that would be phenomenal for me.”
The team is seeking additional marketing partners to help offset the costs of tackling the Chili Bowl.
“I’m grateful to Don for the opportunity to race such a prestigious event,” he said. “We’re looking for additional partners. For only $100 a person or company will get a logo on the car with more money meaning a bigger logo.”
