Donny Schatz did what Donny Schatz knows..... Win!
On Friday night Donny returned back to the winners circle. Starting on the 4th row, he passed Brooke Tatnell with 2 laps to go and win the prelim feature of the Australian Open. Despite the win, Donny treated this feature as a "practice run" for tomorrow night. Throughout the night his tyres had no been changed. Understanding tomorrow night feature will be 50 laps, he wanted a feel of how the car would go on 50 laps worth of tyres. Running hot laps, time trials, heats and feature, he would get a feel for how the car goes tonight and give him a leg up tomorrow.
Brooke Tatnell continued his nice run to finish second while Kerry Madsen took out third. Jason Sides in his first run of the season in Australia moved from 17th to 9th.
The field will be back tomorrow night to contest the 50 lap feature.
